Merida

This is a very quick tribute to the last Pixar movie "Brave". These days I`m very busy, but yesterday I watched it and I couldn't help to draw my own Merida :)

As I said is a very quick sckech, almost 20 minutes. What I wantend the most was to chase the wonderfull movie colors, the contrast between the blue-grey enviroment and her deep orange hair.

Great film, wonderfull characteres, stunning colours!

Anime

Yesterday I was in an Anime Exposition...so I couldn't help doing something like that. I have never been an anime or manga great fun, but this kind of illustration always remind me my teenages when I used to draw lots of manga girls :)

I will try to color this illustration this week!

Comeback to pencils

Hi everybody! As you can see today I've been practising with the coloured pencils. I am just testing with new techniques, although coloured pencil it's not  a new technique, in fact I think that it was the first that I tried....in the kindergarden!!! XD

In the last few weeks a lot of people has asked me for tradicional techniques. I thik that many people don't apreciate digital paint... maybe because they think that it´s more cold, and it´s not as worthy as the non-digital techniques. O course I dont belive that, but anyway I think that it´s important not to forget that there are another posibilies. Not only photoshop (my beloved photoshop)


I think that my next post it's going to be a paper sculture...what it´s this?  ha! you'll se very soon!

Last jobs

It was long time ago since the last time that I posted anything. I´m sorry I have been very busy!!! I promise not leave this blog alone anymore or at least, I will try it :)
Here you can see some illustrations that I did for my workpartners.

The first it's a blog header and the bellow is goodbye gift.

And this one is a present for a friend. She has a really beautifull coffe-shop in Madrid. She always has homemade cakes and delicious yoghurt ice-creams with natural fruit. She has offered me to put some of my illustrations on the walls in order to sell them. So, since yesterday some of my drawings are available in Tierra Trágame if you are near, go and take a look!!

Back to the origins

Estos días me encuentro re-enfrentándome con técnicas no digitales. Quiero participar en un proyecto en el que solo se aceptan obras hechas con técnica tradicional. Ya hace años hice un curso de ilustración, del que guardo cosas como estas. La primera está realizada con gouache (o témpera) y es la técnica con la que me estado pegando esta tarde :P....es la primera vez que pinto sobre lienzo y se nota, demasidos años acostumbrada a pintar grándes superficies con solo dar a un botón...estoy viendo puesta a prueba mi paciencia :P

Esta segunda es acrílico, me acuerdo que estuve semanas, siempre guiada por el profesor, hasta que daba con los colores adecuados para representar el atardecer. La verdad es que en estas clases aprendí muchísimo sobre el color, parece una tontería pero hasta que no te pones a "fabricar" tu mismo los colores no aprendes a ver. Se que quizá suena exagerado pero yo siento como si me hubieran vuelto a enseñar a ver.

Así que a ver qué consigo de este intento :P de momento hoy ya descanso, que aún le quedan unas cuantas horas de trabajo!

New project

Este es parte de un proyecto en el que estoy trabajando estos días, creo que va a quedar muy bonito, estoy deseando porder enseñaros la web entera :)

sick and tired

Beautiful Food

La gente que me conoce bien sabe que, aunque en general suelo ser una persona mañosa, la cocina, definitivamente no es lo mio. Me encanta comer, casi diría que es un hobby! salir a cenar a sitios nuevos, descubrir nuevos sabores.... pero cocinar, lo confieso, me parece una tarea demasiado larga, que requiere mucha atención y paciencia, para lo rápido que después desaparece lo creado...

Precisamente para intentar interesarme por el mundo de la cocina me apunté a un curso de cupcakes. Siempre me han parecido taaan monos! Creía que sería una motivación, pero desde entonces no lo he vuelto a intentar!... y me da penita, porque la verdad es que son muy resultones, ¿os gustan?

The people who really know me would never say that I´m not  a 'good with hands' person. But I have to confess that I have a weakness: the kitchen. I have to say that I love food! Discover new restaurants and flavors is almost a hobby for me....but cooking.... uuff... It seems to me a very long task that demands a lot of patience. And the result desapears to fast!

Because of that, trying to motivate myself to cook I enroled in a Cup Cake course the last month. The Cup Cakes are soooo cute! I though that I become more interested in cooking if the food is as lovely as that...but I think that it din´t work!! I have never cook Cup Cakes again since then, and is a pity because they are so pretty! Do you like it?

Belly Dance debut

Otra de mis pasiones, aparte de dibujar es bailar. Concretamente danza árabe. LLevo casi 6 años dando clase y por fin a llegado el momento de volar sola. Este domingo yo y otras dos amigas debutamos en un restaurante marroquí rodeadas de amigos! Hemos preparado nuestro bailes con muchas ganas e ilusión , así que espero que sea una gran noche!! :)

Another of my pasions, apart of drawing is to dance, especially belly dance. I've been dancing for 6 years, and the moment to fly alone has come. Next sunday me and two friends will debut in a Moroccan restaurant surrounded by our friends. We have work very hard in ours choreography's so I hope that the sunday night will be a great success!! :)

New Project

Con motivo de la celebración el día 8 del día internacional de la mujer trabajadora estoy realizando una serie de ilustraciones para un cartel y una pancarta para la ONG Calcuta Ondoan. Se trata de reflejar que es un alucha universal, en la que tanto hombres como mujeres está implicados. Esto son solo unos de los personajes que usaré en la pancarta, os mostraré el resultado :)

On 8th March we celebrate the International day of the women, for this reason I drawing some illustrations for a posters for the NGO Calcuta Ondoan. These illustrations reflects that the fight for the equality is universal, an both, men and women are involved. Those are only a few characters of the poster, in the next days I'll show you the result :)
